19th Century Signage in Modern Day Interior Design

Image from Cote De Texas

Today, I stumbled upon this gem of an image while researching the lives and work of local Indiana, PA artists Carrie and Leslie Pattison. Many times before, I have sought images of 19th century wooden signage like this for application in my art and living history work, but simply have not known where to begin. Therefore, when I found this blog description of an interior design project focusing on antique-integration, I had to post this great image so I would not lose track of it.

The feel of the piece against the modern backdrop strongly emphasized the likely handcarved form of the sign, and a special truthfulness to the media in question.
